Words to Grill By: Weber’s Grill Masters Series Shares Hot Tips

Warm summer days naturally invite people to run through the sprinklers, drink ice-cold beverages and devour delicious gourmet food hot from the grill. With around 65 percent of American homes owning one or more outdoor grills or smokers, they’ve become a popular way to bring friends and family together.

Whether you are a novice at the grill or possess cooking-with-live-fire prowess, Weber recently launched a trio of videos aimed to… Continue

Updated: July 4th

OK, I deserve whatever ridicule you people want to dish out for not keeping up with my blogging. There's nothing worse than an inconsistent blogger. Blogging must be timely to be relevant. In case you can't tell, I love blogging.

So I'll try to dust off the cobwebs and recap the July 4th BBQ experience (what's today... fall?). It was hot, very hot that day. Ma and Pa K were in town for the 4th so we fired up the smoker for a… Continue

We're kind of a big deal

The hosts of Cork and Pork BBQ have decided to set their sights high and begin advertising. (Keep in mind that these two bozos have only cooked one pork shoulder EVER.) The BBQ team name brings together two of the finer things in life, and our advertising brings in a third: baseball. Cork and Pork BBQ is proud to be the sole sponsor of the Baseball-Reference.com pages for 14-year veteran… Continue

My family is coming into town on July 3rd, so I'm going to smoke up another delicious pork shoulder and maybe some ribs in celebration of our country's independence from those bastards across the pond. (Just kidding of course, I love the the Brits being that they're responsible for… Continue

Follow-up on initial wine thoughts...

While we recognize that a wine pairing should have occurred, the 12+ beers we consumed that day led us to abstain from having wine. However, after tasting the meat, there are a couple of qualities that I'd look for. The first being something that can handle the smoke. While I hate the grape, a Petite Sirah would be big enough. The other wine which I'm a huge fan of is the Sutton Cellars 2004 carignane trimble vineyard. While carignane hasn't always… Continue

Wine Pairings for the Pork Shoulder

were any wines paired with the shoulder? If not, does anyone have any wines they have consumed with BBQ that paired well, that they would like to share?

Opening day for Cork and Pork BBQ

After weeks of planning and research, the Landmann Black Dog 42 was put to its first test on Sunday, June 22. On 6/20 Todd and I purchased a 7.9 lb pork shoulder (or more specifically a Boston blade roast) from the fine people at House of Homemade… Continue
